Come Let Us Adore Him - Christmas Mass 2016 fom Buffalo, NY

The Most Reverend Richard J. Malone, Catholic Bishop of Buffalo, NY will celebrate Christmas Mass with young adults in an historic Chapel dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Participants, including local college students and seminarians from Christ the King Seminary; will participate in the choir, readings and altar serving. The celebration will be held in the historic Chapel and shrine, Our Lady Help of Christians just outside of Buffalo in Cheektowaga, NY.

The Chapel was built in 1853 by German immigrant, Joseph Batt, to fulfill his promise to the Blessed Virgin Mary during a perilous Atlantic crossing. Over the years many visited the shrine in search of blessings and the pilgrimage Chapel became a parish.

Two American saints enriched the heritage of the Chapel, St. John Neumann and St. Frances Xavier (Mother) Cabrini.  Stones used to enlarge the Chapel came from a nearby church where St. John Neumann was pastor.  St. Frances Xavier (Mother) Cabrini made a pilgrimage to the Chapel early in the 20th century.

Today Our Lady Help of Christians Chapel is listed in the New York State and National Register of Historical Places.
